Mysterious Death of Florida Teen on Carnival Cruise Ship
It’s been ten days since an 18-year-old boy from Florida passed away under unclear circumstances while on a Carnival cruise in the Gulf of Mexico, yet authorities still haven’t pinpointed the cause or manner of death.
Anna Kepner, who dreamed of joining the Navy and eventually becoming a K-12 police officer, was found deceased on November 7. After the cruise returned to Miami the following day, her body was sent for an autopsy at the Miami-Dade County Coroner’s Office.
As of Tuesday, local officials reported to Fox News Digital that the autopsy results are still pending. In fact, they haven’t yet determined either the cause or manner of her death.
Carnival released a statement indicating their full cooperation with the FBI, which is investigating the incident. A spokesperson mentioned, “Carnival Cruise Line is working closely with the FBI’s Miami office regarding the death of a guest aboard the Carnival Horizon last week.” They also confirmed that the ship returned to Miami on November 8 without any reported safety threats for passengers during the voyage.
Not much information is available from the FBI as they continue their inquiry into the matter. Carnival Cruise has deferred all other queries to them.
Tragically, Kepner’s passing has raised questions about her emotional state just before her death. Days before she died, she posted on TikTok indicating she was struggling after a difficult breakup. In one October 26 video, she shared selfies and expressed her commitment to remaining positive, despite the challenges she faced.
In her final October 30 post, she left a poignant message about happiness and relationships, stating, “You deserve to be happy, but if it’s not with me, don’t do it.”
Reports indicate that she was found by cabin crew members, reportedly in a troubling state, having felt unwell the night before and leaving dinner early. Meanwhile, the FBI has not responded to further inquiries about the case.
