Democrats Discover New ‘Father of Maryland’
It seems the Democrats have found a new figure to rally around. Kilmer Abrego-Garcia’s successor was initially just a “Maryland dad,” but has quickly gained notoriety as an alleged MS-13 trafficker and domestic violence suspect.
Enter Jose Barco, a military veteran and Purple Heart recipient.
Director Morgan J. Freeman (not the celebrity you’re thinking of) took to Twitter to express, “ICE has deported a Purple Heart U.S. Army veteran to an unknown location in Mexico.”
Local news reports highlighted the situation, with headlines like “Activists express concern after Arizona Purple Heart veteran is deported,” and “A Colorado veteran who earned a Purple Heart has been deported from the United States,” according to a spokesperson for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. This is definitely troubling, right?
However, the left seems to be defending the wrong individual here. Amidst the reports about Barco’s deportation, it’s important to note that he served 15 years for attempted murder after leaving the military—and he had just been granted parole in January.
The incident that led to his imprisonment took place in 2009 when he was applying for citizenship. During what seems to have been a chaotic moment, he fired a weapon into a gathering, injuring a pregnant woman. He was released early from what could have been a 52-year sentence. His legal representatives argued severe PTSD was a factor, claiming he had flashbacks prior to the shooting, yet there isn’t much detail released about the event.
Barco’s military service record is admirable. In a perfect world, one might hope he could have received adequate treatment for his PTSD and gained citizenship. Still, while it’s essential to empathize with veterans, we must also recognize that violent behavior—particularly against others—is unacceptable.
Interestingly, just as the details of Barco’s past issues come to light, Democrats are leveraging this situation to critique the deportation of convicted criminals. This has led to a contentious dialogue, as they previously argued that only certain individuals should be deported, such as those who seem harmless, like grandmothers. This leads to uncomfortable conclusions about who really deserves to stay in the country. It appears that criminals will inevitably be the focus.
Despite their persistent efforts, trying to undermine mass deportation, the Trump administration has been firm in their stance.

This aspect of the Epstein saga hasn’t received much attention.

And then there’s this surprising remark:
Joy Reid would be left stunned if she spotted a penis in the women’s locker room—an opinion I somewhat share.
Lastly, there’s an alarming call for help for actress Ariana Grande.
