New Gender Legislation Introduced by Texas Representative
Rep. Ronnie Jackson (R-Texas) is set to introduce the Men and Women Only Act, which aligns with former President Donald Trump’s objective of reinstating biological truths in federal policy.
The proposed legislation aims to assert that only two genders exist, explicitly barring any U.S. government forms, surveys, or documents from offering gender identity options beyond “male” and “female.” This marks a notable shift, especially considering the Democratic Party’s long-standing promotion of various gender identities that diverge from biological sex, including terms like “non-binary,” “two-spirit,” and “genderqueer.”
If passed, agencies would have 60 days to adjust their systems accordingly.
In a recent statement, Jackson expressed frustration over what he sees as Democrats transforming fundamental biology into a divisive political issue, noting, “The American people are tired of their relentless promotion of radical gender ideology throughout our government.”
He continued, stating that the Male or Female Only Act would reaffirm common sense and uphold Trump’s prior executive orders, ensuring government branches recognize the straightforward principle that there are only two genders: male and female.
Jackson’s initiative reflects ongoing commitments by the Trump administration. Following his inauguration, Trump prioritized reversing what he deemed unscientific language that arose during the Biden administration’s push for “inclusivity” in policies labeled under diversity initiatives.
Trump’s executive actions highlighted concerns regarding the diminishing recognition of biological sex. He expressed that this erasure adversely impacts women’s dignity, safety, and well-being, cautioning that substituting biological facts with subjective identities undermines the legitimacy of not just women but the entire American system.
The legislation proposed by Jackson seeks to ensure that recognition of biological truths remains consistent, regardless of future administrations.
Moreover, the Trump administration has made its influence felt by compelling numerous states to eliminate gender ideology from their sex education frameworks. Failure to comply could lead to substantial losses in federal funding.
Acting Assistant Secretary Andrew Gradison emphasized, “Accountability is coming,” asserting that federal resources would not support the promotion of ideologies considered harmful to younger generations.
