Secret agreement: Nancy Mace to push for a vote on Cory Mills after Republicans protect Democrat involved in Epstein texts

Representative Nancy Mace, a Republican from South Carolina, is initiating a censure vote against her fellow Republican, Rep. Cory Mills from Florida. Mace is set to make this push on Wednesday evening, suspecting that Florida lawmakers managed to sidestep a similar censure attempt the night before by ending discussions with Democrats.

She has remarked that, “the swamp protects itself,” indicating a belief that political maneuvering is at play.

A few Republicans left their party ranks to shield Stacey Plaskett, a Democratic representative from the Virgin Islands, after new documents surfaced. These documents allege that Plaskett conspired and communicated with Jeffrey Epstein during a congressional hearing back in 2019.

With the censure vote unsuccessful, Mace and some Republican allies argue that the protection for Plaskett came at the expense of Mills facing his own censure.

“There was another backroom deal to keep Cory Mills from being censored,” Mace stated in a social media post, adding that the leadership’s failure to act against Plaskett was traded for Mills’ protection.

Florida’s Rep. Anna Paulina Luna echoed these sentiments, claiming that leadership’s decision to reverse the censure vote for Mills was a strategic move.

Mace has pointed fingers at Mills, alleging he’s under investigation for various serious allegations, including purported stolen valor and weapons trafficking, as well as accusations of mistreating women. Some of these claims had initially been reported by Blaze News.

This isn’t the first time Mills has faced criticism for making deals with Democrats. In September, he was pivotal in blocking a House resolution condemning Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar for comments she made after a controversial event.

Though Mills claims to disagree with Omar’s sentiments, he recognized her right to express them under the First Amendment.

His office has not responded to recent inquiries from Blaze News.
