A teenager, Anna Kepner, was discovered dead under unclear circumstances while on a Carnival cruise, and her family has paid tribute to her as a vibrant “beauty” who “lived every day to the fullest.”
The 18-year-old cheerleader from Florida was cruising with her family when her body was found by a maid on November 7, wrapped in a blanket and hidden under her bed.
Shocking court documents from Florida recently revealed that one of her brothers-in-law is under investigation by the FBI and may face arrest.
“She adored the sun, the water, and anything that let her soak up the light she effortlessly spread to those around her,” her family wrote in her touching obituary, affectionately calling her “Anna Banana.”
Her family recalls her as someone with “no filter,” which they found endearing. “She had a big, beautiful heart” and often sent unexpected “I love you” messages or small acts of kindness to brighten someone’s day.
Anna was on the cruise with her father, Christopher, and her new stepmother, Shawntel Hudson, whose children were also present on the trip.
Legal documents from an ongoing custody dispute between Hudson and her ex-husband bring startling details, indicating the FBI’s interest in Anna’s stepbrother.
The obituary reflects a joyful teenager with aspirations to join the U.S. Navy and eventually work as a K9 police officer after graduation.
Described as a devoted Christian who was baptized in May, her family takes comfort in the belief that she is in heaven now, “laughing and enjoying fries on the ranch… just as she did here.”
Rather than wearing black, attendees of her funeral were asked to don colors that represented “Anna’s bright and beautiful soul,” with her favorite color being blue.
“Please remember Anna with laughter, color, sunshine, and love, because that’s what her life embodied,” her family encouraged everyone.
“She danced in the light she left behind, and it will never fade,” concluded the eulogy.
