John O’Hurley Considering Move from Los Angeles
Actor and comedian John O’Hurley has expressed his reluctance about living in Los Angeles, hinting that he might be leaving soon. The “Seinfeld” star, like many celebrities, is contemplating a move from California to other areas in the U.S.
On the “Brian Kilmeade Show,” O’Hurley mentioned, “I realized that I didn’t have to do that here.” He pointed out that much of his work is voice acting, which allows him to work remotely. Interestingly, he noted that he filmed five movies this year, none of which were in Los Angeles.
O’Hurley observed that the declining film industry in California is a significant factor driving people away. Recent projects, he said, have predominantly been shot in places like Georgia, Tennessee, and New York.
Highlighting the changing landscape of Hollywood, O’Hurley added, “It’s also what the Academy is demanding now that you have to tick all these boxes to get nominated for an Academy Award. It’s just ridiculous.”
He noted that, for someone of his background, finding work in the current environment can be quite challenging. Other celebrities such as Mark Wahlberg, Sylvester Stallone, and Jessica Simpson have also relocated from California, citing issues like high taxes, crime, and political climates as reasons for their departures.
Hollywood’s shift in cultural priorities is another point of concern for O’Hurley. He emphasized that living in Los Angeles feels problematic and that he seeks a spiritual place where he can feel free. His thoughts reflect a trend among many in the entertainment industry who are reevaluating their ties to the city.
Interestingly, actor Glen Powell recently shared his decision to move back to Texas for similar reasons, reinforcing the idea that many are seeking alternatives to Hollywood.
