If Democrats Gain Power, They Will Expand the Supreme Court

Nate Morris Discusses Filibuster

Nate Morris, a businessman from Kentucky and a candidate for the Republican Senate seat, argued that the filibuster needs to be abolished. He believes that if Democrats regain power, they would quickly appoint left-leaning justices to the Supreme Court and extend amnesty to undocumented immigrants.

Morris, who is vying for the position currently held by retiring Senator Mitch McConnell, expressed his views during an interview. He mentioned that his main rivals, Representative Andy Barr and former state attorney general Daniel Barr, have not supported President Trump’s push to eliminate the filibuster, although they are in agreement with his broader agenda.

“We must eliminate the filibuster,” Morris emphasized. “This may be our only chance to put forward the policies that will protect the American people and our nation.” He underscored the urgency of this action, indicating that the Democrats would aim to establish Puerto Rico and Washington, D.C. as states, and potentially alter the Supreme Court in their favor.

“We must act now while we have the political leverage,” he stated. Morris further criticized his opponents for being inadequate, suggesting they lack the strength to defend their stance regarding the filibuster.

“I’m committed to an America First agenda,” he asserted.

Notably, Senators Jim Banks and Bernie Moreno, both strong allies of Trump, are supportive of efforts to abolish the filibuster in the Senate. Banks stated that he aligns with Trump, expressing his view that the stalemate in government is a result of Democratic actions and is intolerable. “We have limited time to fulfill our commitments to voters. The filibuster hinders us from advancing crucial measures like budget balancing and voter ID laws,” he remarked.

Moreno suggested it might be the right moment to reconsider the filibuster, asserting, “With 52 Republicans, let’s try to get the government functioning again.”
