Malik Nabors Critiques Giants After Overtime Loss

Malik Nabors, the New York Giants’ injured wide receiver, recently expressed his frustration with the team via a now-deleted social media post following their overtime defeat against the Detroit Lions.

Nabors seemed particularly upset about the team’s play-calling during a crucial fourth quarter moment. The Giants were leading by three points when they faced a fourth down. After they turned over the ball, the Lions quickly responded with a 59-yard field goal from Jake Bates to tie the game.

In his post, Nabors questioned the decision-making, asking rhetorically, “Sometimes I wonder if they are letting us lose on purpose! Cause that can’t happen, bro. Throw the ball instead of running to burn two timeouts? Then you don’t kick a field goal? They have to go down and score! Soccer common sense! Am I missing something?”

Despite deleting the post shortly after, screenshots had already been shared widely among NFL media and fans.

During the pivotal drive, the Giants managed 14 plays and 86 yards but ultimately failed to capitalize, with Jameis Winston’s pass to Theo Johnson in the end zone falling incomplete.

After the Giants’ turnover, Detroit’s Jared Goff orchestrated a successful drive, ending with Bates kicking a game-winning field goal. The Giants couldn’t respond and thus fell to a 34-27 defeat after the Lions scored in overtime.

Nabors has been sidelined since September 28 due to a torn ACL he sustained in a game against the Los Angeles Chargers. Currently, the Giants stand at 2-10, officially out of playoff contention.
