“The View” co-host Joy Behar had former President Donald Trump on her ABC News talk show recently. They talked about Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s resignation and Trump’s critiques of some conservative politicians he closely associates with.
During the discussion, co-host Ana Navarro mentioned Trump’s recent criticism of Greene for her appearance on a liberal talk show. Behar, seizing the moment, extended an invitation to Trump to join the show, which drew laughter and applause from her fellow hosts.
Earlier, Trump had posted on Truth Social, criticizing Greene as a “lightweight” who, he believes, has betrayed the Republican Party. He remarked that she has become the “RINO” he always suspected she was.
In a separate note, Navarro reminded Trump that members of his family have been on “The View” numerous times. She listed Ivanka’s six appearances, Melania’s four as a guest co-host, and even noted that Donald Trump Jr. had participated while he was promoting a book. “If being on ‘The View’ is such a bad thing, maybe you should start telling your family about it during Thanksgiving,” Navarro added, prompting more laughter.
The White House didn’t provide immediate comments on the matter.
Meanwhile, Greene, who had been a staunch supporter of Trump, announced her resignation due to a public dispute with him. She expressed disillusionment with the political landscape, citing a “political complex” that exploits Americans by fostering division. In a lengthy statement on social media, she lamented that both parties are more focused on making people resent each other than improving conditions for ordinary citizens.
Alyssa Farrar Griffin, another co-moderator on “The View,” commented that Greene might be stepping away from her role too soon. She highlighted that, despite Congress’s unpopularity and recklessness, holding a voting position still carries power. Griffin suggested that Greene had retreated from the fight before it was truly over, particularly regarding ongoing efforts involving Epstein-related files.
