O’Reilly Critiques Senator Kelly’s Actions
Bill O’Reilly criticized Arizona Senator Mark Kelly for taking part in a recent political stunt orchestrated by some Democratic lawmakers. In a video, Kelly, along with five other Democratic senators, urged military personnel not to obey “unlawful” orders from President Trump. Notably, Michigan Senator Elissa Slotkin, who was key in creating the video, admitted she had no evidence of any “unlawful” orders from the administration.
“If you were a responsible lawmaker, you wouldn’t make things up,” O’Reilly stated, expressing his disappointment in Kelly. He felt that getting involved in what he described as a “ridiculous farce” was a significant mistake for the senator.
The video has been labeled “inflammatory” by various critics, including Trump and his allies. O’Reilly, pointing to Kelly’s military background, expressed that the senator should have known better than to get entangled in such a divisive issue. He questioned, “What was the purpose? Isn’t it simply to create embarrassment for Trump?”
The Department of the Army is expected to investigate Kelly, given his status as a retired Navy commander and the potential implications of his comments under the Uniform Military Justice Act.
O’Reilly questioned the motivations behind the video campaign, suggesting it was primarily aimed at disparaging Trump and stoking animosity against him. He argued that if Kelly had anticipated any backlash, he should reconsider his participation in political theatrics.
“What are you, seven years old? If you instructed the U.S. military to disregard orders because they might be ‘illegal,’ you would face significant pushback,” O’Reilly added, emphasizing the responsibility that comes with being a legislator.
