Ray J is reportedly facing Thanksgiving behind bars.
The R&B artist was taken into custody after allegedly pointing a gun at his estranged wife, Princess Love, and making threats toward another man during a livestream early Thursday morning, as reported.
During the livestream, Ray J expressed frustration about the holiday, declaring that he wouldn’t let anyone take his kids away from him. He was, apparently, adamant that his children were with him during this chaotic time.
At one point, he claimed people were threatening him and was seen loading a handgun in full view of the camera. “If these guys come in here, I’m going to blow this motherfucker away, bro,” he shouted in what seemed like a heated moment.
Ray J, whose real name is William Ray Norwood Jr., seemed to be brandishing a firearm as Princess Love entered the residence. She had come to take the kids, which led to a lot of tension. “Nobody’s going to take my kids away from me on Thanksgiving,” Ray J yelled.
The couple shares two children, a daughter, Melody, who is seven, and a five-year-old son, Epic.
Things escalated when Ray J accused Princess Love and her cousin of being drunk as they tried to take the children. He said something to the effect of, “I’d like to take my kids away from you and your alcohol problems.”
In the livestream, Princess Love called Ray J a “woman abuser” and “delusional,” while he continued to sound off about not wanting his son to go with her. An unidentified man was heard trying to calm the situation, while Ray J continued with threats, saying he’d shoot someone if they came in.
Background noises included a crying child and the distant sound of sirens indicating police arrival.
Shortly after, reports indicate that law enforcement received a call around 4 a.m. about a potential domestic violence situation. Ray J was later arrested and charged with criminal intimidation, with bail set at $50,000.
Attempts to reach out to representatives for both Ray J and Princess Love have been made for comments.
This ongoing saga isn’t new; the couple has been in a tumultuous relationship since marrying in 2016. Recently, Princess filed for divorce for the fourth time, indicating ongoing struggles between them.
