Ingredients
6 sweet potatoes
2 tablespoons butter
2 cups chopped walnuts

Instructions
1. Boil sweet potatoes until tender, then drain.
2. Peel and mash the potatoes well.
3. Mix in butter, nutmeg, and salt (start light, adjust to taste).
4. Gradually blend in cream until smooth.
5. Fold in chopped walnuts.
6. Place in a baking dish, bake for 10 minutes.
7. Top with marshmallows and toast until golden.

Ingredients
12 hard-boiled eggs, peeled
1 tablespoon soft butter
1 tablespoon mayonnaise
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1/2 teaspoon Yucatan Sunshine Habanero Sauce (or any preferred hot sauce)
Salt to taste
Instructions
1. Slice eggs in half, remove yolks and set whites aside.
2. Combine yolks, mustard, sauce, and salt in a food processor; blend until smooth.
3. Adjust seasoning as desired.
4. Fill egg whites with yolk mixture using a piping bag.
5. Garnish with paprika and parsley.
6. Chill for an hour before serving.
Interestingly, the Bush family enjoyed Yucatan Sunshine Habanero Sauce so much that it became a staple in White House kitchens.
Gerald and Betty Ford’s Stuffed Celery
Ingredients
1 medium onion, chopped
1 stalk celery, chopped
1/3 cup butter
2 teaspoons chicken seasoning
2 tablespoons chopped parsley
1 teaspoon salt
5 cups stale bread, diced
1 cup giblet broth
2 beaten eggs
Instructions
1. Sauté onion and celery in butter until soft but not browned.
2. Mix bread and seasonings in a bowl.
3. Add sautéed veggies and combine gently.
4. In another bowl, mix giblet broth and eggs, then pour over the bread mixture.
5. Stir until well mixed.
Ike and Mamie Eisenhower’s Deep Dish Apple Pie
Ingredients
6 tart apples
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
Grated lemon zest
Grated orange peel
3 tablespoons butter

Pastry Ingredients
2 cups flour
3/4 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup shortening
Cold water
Pastry Instructions
1. Sift flour and measure accurately.
2. Mix flour and salt, then sift.
3. Cut in shortening until crumbly.
4. Add cold water gradually until a soft dough forms.
5. Divide and roll out for use in pie.
Pie Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
2. Grease a baking dish, arrange apples.
3. Mix sugars, nutmeg, lemon, and orange zest, then sprinkle over apples.
4. Top with butter and cover with pastry.
5. Bake until golden and apples are soft, about 25–30 minutes.
Ronald and Nancy Reagan’s Pumpkin Pecan Pie
Ingredients
4 lightly beaten eggs
2 cups pumpkin (canned or cooked)
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup dark corn syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 unbaked 9-inch pie shell
1 cup chopped pecans
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Mix all ingredients (except pecans) until smooth.
3. Pour into pie crust and sprinkle pecans on top.
4. Bake for about 40 minutes until set and lightly browned.
5. Allow to cool before serving.
