Celebration for Robert Irwin’s Dancing with the Stars Win
Prince William and Duchess Kate shared their enthusiasm after Robert Irwin’s victory on “Dancing with the Stars” with a heartfelt message.
The Prince and Princess of Wales, both 43, commented “Congratulations Robert and Witney!” beneath Irwin’s Instagram post on Wednesday.
In that post, Irwin, aged 21, showcased a clip of his joyous moment on stage with his professional partner, Witney Carson, after taking home the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy. The celebratory scene included him being lifted by his co-stars.
“Dreams do come true ❤️,” wrote Irwin, who had earlier received a personal message from Prince William during the season.
Irwin and Carson were crowned the winners during the three-hour finale of Season 34, marking a significant win for Robert, the first in a decade for his family since his sister Bindi Irwin triumphed alongside Derek Hough.
In his victory speech, Robert celebrated a decade since Bindi’s own win, remarking that earning the same recognition as his sister means “everything” to him.
“To follow in those footsteps and achieve this is truly special,” the Australian conservationist said after the finale. “This experience has changed my life.” He added that Bindi’s victory previously emphasized their family’s commitments to conservation, charity, and their work with the Australian Zoo and Wildlife Warriors.
His win held added meaning, especially as it was revealed he had sustained rib injuries in the lead-up to his performances.
Alix Earle and Val Chmerkovskiy secured second place, while Jordan Childs and Ezra Sosa came in third. Dylan Efron and Daniela Karagach finished fourth, with Elaine Hendricks and Alan Bersten rounding out the top five.
