On Friday, the White House initiated a website aimed at highlighting perceived bias in left-wing media, introducing features such as a “Media Offender of the Week” and a “Criminal Hall of Shame.”
CBS News has been singled out as the “Media Offender of the Week” by The Independent. The White House noted that the media’s coverage has called for accountability from Democratic lawmakers regarding allegations that President Trump may have issued unlawful military orders.
In a video shared on November 18, Senators Elissa Slotkin (D-MI) and Mark Kelly (D-AZ), alongside Representatives Maggie Goodlander (D-NH), Jason Crow (D-CO), and Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA), suggested to military and intelligence personnel that they could refuse illegal orders, implying that President Trump had given such orders, although they did not clarify the nature of these orders. Their belief was that the orders were illegal.
President Trump reacted to the Democrats’ video on Truth Social, stating, “This is really bad and dangerous for our country. We cannot let their words stand. This is sedition by traitors!!! Lock them up???”
He further declared, “Sedition, punishable by death!” in another post.
The White House’s website includes a fact-checked section titled “The Offense,” which addresses three specific media reports.
According to the site, “The media falsely reported that President Trump called for the ‘execution’ of members of Congress, holding them accountable for inciting the riot.”
Under the heading “The Truth,” the site claims, “Democrats and the fake news media subversively implied that President Trump issued illegal orders to military personnel. All orders issued by President Trump were legal.”
Additionally, it states, “It is dangerous for sitting members of Congress to incite disobedience in the U.S. military, and President Trump called on them to be held accountable.”
Lower down the page is the “Criminal Hall of Shame,” which currently features CBS News, CNN, and MSNBC.
The website also offers a list of claims deemed false or misleading by the White House, categorized into terms like “bias,” “medical malpractice,” “lies,” and “left-wing insanity,” among others.
The Washington Post ranks highest on this so-called criminal “leaderboard,” followed by MSNBC and CBS News. CNN, the New York Times, Politico, and the Wall Street Journal also make an appearance on the list.
