Family of Celeste Rivas Hernandez Attempts Normalcy Amid Ongoing Investigation
The family of Celeste Rivas Hernandez, whose dismembered remains were found in a vehicle linked to singer D4vd, is trying to find their footing during the holiday weekend.
Over Black Friday, her family was spotted doing errands and shopping near their home in Lake Elsinore, California, as the scrutiny around the singer’s involvement continues.
In one image, her parents, Mercedes and Jesús Rivas-Hernandez, can be seen shopping at a nearby outlet mall, while her sister, Jennifer, was earlier photographed running errands at a Bank of America ATM.
A grand jury in Los Angeles is currently evaluating evidence concerning Rivas Hernandez’s death. The 14-year-old’s body was discovered inside a Tesla belonging to D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, after he went missing from his home in April 2024.
At the time of her death, it’s believed she had been living with D4vd in a rented Hollywood Hills house. Her remains were found on September 8, just a day before what would have been her 15th birthday, following the seizure of D4vd’s car.
Various publications have described Rivas-Hernandez as a “beloved daughter, sister, cousin, and friend.” A GoFundMe page has been set up to support her family.
“Her family is heartbroken and devastated by this tragic loss,” stated a family spokesperson.
As for the circumstances surrounding her passing, officials have yet to disclose an official cause, as they await the toxicology report from the coroner. Reports indicate the grand jury will further investigate Rivas Hernandez’s death.
