The passing of rapper Pousse Stacey, known off-stage as Carlito Milfort, is currently being investigated as a suicide, but his family suspects something more disturbing may have occurred.
Milfort, 26, was discovered with a gunshot wound to the head in a Boca Raton, Florida hotel room, where he was reportedly staying with his mother and young child. Multiple sources indicated this to TMZ.
He gained some fame through his collaboration with Travis Barker on the 2020 track “Choose Life.” Initially, he was able to hold on but sadly passed away after two days on life support, according to officials.
While authorities have not confirmed the exact cause of death, sources mentioned it is categorized as a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
However, the family holds a different viewpoint, thinking there might be foul play, as suggested by a source close to them, though specifics about their suspicions remain unclear.
Reports first described Milfort as having suffered from a sudden medical emergency, noting no other injuries or subsequent hospital visits.
Just ten days prior to his death, Milfort had checked into the hotel with a woman and an infant, who sources claimed is his partner and child. It’s uncertain if they were present when he died.
Milfort was gaining recognition in the music industry, having collaborated with Barker on other tracks, including “Nothing Left.”
Travis Barker, married to Kourtney Kardashian, paid his respects to the late artist on Instagram, expressing, “Rest in Peace, you will never be forgotten,” alongside a performance video of the two.
Oli Sykes, frontman of Bring Me The Horizon and a collaborator with Milfort, also shared a touching post on Instagram Stories, featuring a photo of them with the message “Rest In Peace” decorated with a black heart emoji.
