Dollywood’s Holiday Transformation

In the heart of Tennessee’s Great Smoky Mountains, Dollywood shifts into a magical winter paradise each Christmas. The park features holiday treats, exciting rides, and an impressive display of 6 million sparkling Christmas lights.

Co-owned by country music icon Dolly Parton, Dollywood attracts millions of visitors annually. Recently, Fox Nation’s Madison Alworth explored what makes the holidays at the park unique on “A Dollywood Christmas.”

“If you visit Dollywood during this season and don’t feel Christmas, something’s off,” shared Wes Ramey, Dollywood’s public relations director, as he talked about the park’s festive lights welcoming families to celebrate together.

Dolly Parton, who deeply cherishes the Christmas season, has often expressed how this time of year is special to her because it signifies family gatherings. Ramey noted that, for Parton, Christmas means everything.

Having grown up in East Tennessee, Parton treasures the chance to share her childhood memories with park guests. Ramey elaborated that allowing visitors to experience the scenic beauty of the Smoky Mountains and the genuine hospitality of the local community carries significant meaning for her.

Dollywood also aims to make a positive impact on the local area. Ramey highlighted Parton’s intention behind the park: “She wanted to create jobs for folks in this region, and Dollywood has become the largest employer in the county.”

Ultimately, Dollywood’s holidays are not just about lights and rides; they embody a sense of community and warmth, reflecting Parton’s spirit and commitment to giving back.
