Kandi Burruss Opens Up About Divorce Struggles

Kandi Burruss has recently shared that she feels “emotionally devastated” about her split from her estranged husband, Todd Tucker.

Although she posted several cheerful photos on Instagram, the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star made it clear that things aren’t quite as rosy as they appear. On Wednesday, she took to her followers to reveal her true feelings.

“This is what I look like when I’m going through something,” the 49-year-old reality star commented in a heartfelt caption.

Burruss elaborated, “I show up for my family, my friends, and my job, and I keep smiling, even when I feel emotionally shattered inside. In every photo in this video, I was facing something significant that most people around me didn’t even realize.”

“This isn’t fake,” she emphasized. “It’s how I cope. I tend to internalize my struggles and face them alone. I’m a prime example of the saying, ‘Check on your strong friends, because you never know what they’re experiencing.'”

She admitted that she usually doesn’t share such feelings publicly, although she decided to do so after listening to an old song she wrote.

The reality star described her demeanor as continuing to “put on a show.” She seemed to maintain her positive outlook while her personal life was disintegrating.

Discussing the emotional lyrics of the song, Burruss reflected, “They express perfectly what I’m feeling. I can’t keep running away.” She added, “Deep down, I just want to let out all my frustrations, sometimes even scream to release the pent-up pain.”

Her fellow “Bravo” stars showed their support online, with comments such as Porsha Williams saying, “You and your family are in my prayers ❤️.”

Recent reports revealed that Burruss and Tucker, who were married in 2014, ended their 11-year marriage last month. They share a 9-year-old son, Ace, and a 6-year-old daughter, Blaze.

Despite their separation, the pair attended recent family events together, including their son’s birthday and Thanksgiving celebrations.

On another note, reports suggested that Burruss caught Tucker “talking to other women behind her back” prior to their breakup, though she hasn’t publicly addressed the infidelity claims. She did mention during a November Amazon Live session that their split had been “brewing for a while.”

Currently, she is seeking primary custody of their children and is challenging their prenuptial agreement.
