NFL Playoff Race Heating Up in Week 14
As we step into Week 14 of the 2025 NFL season, the playoff landscape is becoming increasingly intense.
In the AFC, teams like the Houston Texans, Pittsburgh Steelers, Kansas City Chiefs, Miami Dolphins, and Cincinnati Bengals still harbor hopes of playoff berths, although they currently find themselves on the outside looking in. Meanwhile, the NFC features the Detroit Lions, Dallas Cowboys, Carolina Panthers, Atlanta Falcons, and Minnesota Vikings—all vying for the chance to secure their postseason positions.
This week, the spotlight is on these teams, especially since the Lions and Cowboys are kicking things off on Thursday night.
On another note, we have several standout players potentially reaching significant career milestones this week.
The Cleveland Browns’ Myles Garrett is just half a sack away from eclipsing Aldon Smith’s record for the second-most sacks achieved in 13 games. Patrick Mahomes, the star quarterback of the Chiefs, is on the brink of making history too; he could become the sixth player ever to throw 25 or more touchdown passes in eight straight seasons. It’s a tall order, especially with the Chiefs set to face the Texans.
And let’s not forget Jared Goff from the Lions—he needs just 300 passing yards to join Mahomes and former Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan as the only players with at least 300 yards in 45 games over their first ten seasons. Quite a lot is at stake this week!
