Drag Queen Pattie Gonia Calls Out Melania and Donald Trump While Asking for LGBTQ Fundraiser Support

Reality TV personality and drag queen Wynn Wiley, known as Patti Gonyea, criticized First Lady Melania Trump for a strange video where she donned women’s attire and hiked 100 miles while soliciting donations for “diverse-led outdoor nonprofits.”

“Melania, darling, how’s your Christmas shaping up? You look like you’re having a blast,” Gonyea commented, showing a brief clip from C-SPAN of the First Lady at a White House holiday event.

“It seemed like you couldn’t get out of there quickly enough,” the drag queen joked. “Did you happen to miss the private jet that was supposed to whisk you and your husband off to Mar-a-Lago?”

“Anyway, I’ve come across the ideal gift for this holiday season!” Gonyea added with a hint of sarcasm. “It’s all about my fundraiser where I’m trekking 100 miles in drag. Trust me, you’ll appreciate it. We’re aiming to raise $1 million for outdoor nonprofits led by eight diverse groups.”

Keeping her focus on Melania Trump, the drag queen teased, “I’m sure not only you but your husband also supports this organization, especially since he cut the grants that these groups typically receive.”

“And they tackle some really challenging tasks, like DEI initiatives and environmental work,” Gonyea continued.

The star, who appeared on RuPaul’s Drag Race, then playfully encouraged the First Lady to contribute to her cause.

“No worries, you can donate from anywhere, even Florida, with just a click,” she stated.

“This could be the perfect present to place under your Christmas tree, right next to all the other gifts you and your husband have offered America,” Gonyea remarked.

As reported, Gonyea was recently recognized as one of National Geographic‘s 2024 Travelers of the Year and collaborated with Harry Potter’s Bonnie Wright to host a climate action TV series featuring “an unforgettable best friend road trip along the West Coast.”

Back in May, there was a celebration of a group of LGBTQ activists who displayed a large transgender flag on the iconic El Capitan rock formation in Yosemite National Park.
