Hope Walz Reacts to Trump’s Remarks
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz’s daughter, Hope, expressed her outrage over President Donald Trump’s derogatory comments about her father, calling him “retarded” and referring to his supporters as “cult members.” The incident was shared in a TikTok video that was later removed.
Hope stated, “When the president called my dad what he did, it sparked a storm of offensive words against me and my family, especially my brother. You can call me whatever you want, but this crosses a line. Last August, the president faced similar insults, and now it’s back.” She questioned how it could be acceptable for the leader of the United States to make such remarks and how Trump’s followers could launch attacks against others for it.
It’s worth noting that in the past, Hope criticized Trump’s strategies regarding crime in Washington, D.C., labeling his actions as “the actions of a bitch, a cranky, scared cat.”
Meanwhile, Trump has supported his earlier comments about Walz while also addressing concerns regarding Walz’s leadership amidst alleged theft, embezzlement, and fraud issues, particularly involving Somali immigrants in Minnesota. Trump said, “I think there’s something wrong with him… Anyone who puts those people in and gives Somalia billions of dollars… Yeah, there’s something wrong with Walz.”
In March, Trump had referred to Walz as a “loser” during a discussion about his electoral challenges, including facing former Vice President Kamala Harris, who is now running alongside Walz for the 2024 presidential election.
Walz has previously labeled Trump a “threat to democracy” and criticized Republicans as “fascists,” indicating a contentious political climate. Reports have suggested that aggressive rhetoric from both sides has contributed to heightened tensions and fears, underscored by a recent attempt on Trump’s life at a rally.
