Bridget Fonda Shares Weight Loss Journey While Shopping

Bridget Fonda recently showcased her weight loss during a holiday shopping trip over the weekend.

The 61-year-old former actress made a rare appearance on Friday at the children’s store Flicka, located in the Beverly Glen neighborhood of Los Angeles.

Fonda sported a black coat, coordinating pants, and a monochrome scarf, emphasizing her slimmer figure.

She was seen leaving the store beaming, carrying two bags of purchases in each hand, and accessorizing with a black crossbody bag and glasses.

Fonda, who has largely maintained a low profile, hasn’t publicly commented on her weight loss journey.

Nutritionist Monica Partier mentioned that the “Single White Female” star has reportedly lost around 75 pounds over recent years, which is quite a feat, particularly for someone over 50.

Before stepping away from Hollywood in 2003, Fonda opened up about her self-image struggles. Reflecting on her insecurities, she once said, “What is my low self-esteem?” in a 1993 interview.

She expressed feelings of discontent about her appearance, particularly when comparing herself to classic film icons like Veronica Lake and Lauren Bacall. Fonda admitted that it contributed to her low moods and anxiety regarding the pressures of looking like a model.

She also voiced her desire for happiness in her career but acknowledged a constant nagging feeling that she needs to do better. This tension between her mental aspirations and physical reality left her somewhat frustrated.

Fonda, who is the daughter of the late Peter Fonda and the niece of Jane Fonda, has starred in iconic films such as “Singles,” “The Godfather Part III,” “Point of No Return,” and “Jackie Brown.”

Opting for motherhood over acting, she retired over two decades ago to raise her son, Oliver, on the family ranch in Santa Barbara. Her last role was in the 2002 television film “The Snow Queen.”

In April 2023, Fonda informed paparazzi at LAX of her intention never to return to Hollywood, stating, “It’s great to be a civilian.”
