Trump’s Campaign Plans for 2026 Midterm Elections

WASHINGTON — President Trump is gearing up for the 2026 midterm elections, according to Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, who shared this news on Monday.

In an op-ed for the conservative group Moms for America, Wiles expressed that Trump will “work very hard to maintain a majority” in both houses of Congress next year.

She mentioned on his YouTube show, “I haven’t fully told him how I feel yet, but he’s going to campaign like it’s 2024 again. All the people he’s helping—that’s not everyone—but for those he does help, he’s a difference-maker and definitely a vote-getter.”

Wiles, who played a significant role in Trump’s successful 2024 campaign, noted that this approach marks a departure from past strategies. She believes Trump’s popularity and the excitement surrounding his campaign can enhance support for Republican candidates, similar to his previous presidential run.

“Typically, midterm elections aren’t about who’s sitting in the White House; they focus on local issues and keep federal officials out of the mix,” Wiles explained. “We’re actually going to flip that and put him on the ballot, as a lot of low-propensity voters are voting for Trump.”

She highlighted recent Democratic successes in off-year elections, including the unexpected election of socialist Zoran Mamdani as the mayor of New York, as evidence for the need to energize Republican voters.

“We’ve seen… what happens when he’s not on the ballot and he’s not active,” she remarked.

Wiles also added that Trump “started fundraising for the midterm elections the day after the election,” and the party intends to utilize these funds to maintain control in Congress.

“He’s sitting on a huge arsenal to help these people, and he’s going to use it,” she said. “No one can top him, so that’s good reason to be confident.”
