Dylan Efron shares Zac's response to his viral moment on 'DWTS'

Dylan Efron Talks Zac’s Reaction to “Dancing with the Stars”

Dylan Efron shared some insights about his brother, Zac Efron, and how he felt regarding the viral moment from “Dancing with the Stars” following Dylan’s high score.

“I actually discussed this with Zac because I found it amusing,” Dylan mentioned during his recent appearance on the Smith Sisters Live podcast. “But Zac was like, ‘Oh, no.’ He expressed that people were misunderstanding the situation.”

The 33-year-old continued, explaining that the 38-year-old “High School Musical” star, who showed up to support him during the semifinals last November, believed that Dylan’s performance was indeed a success.

“I don’t quite recall everything he said,” Dylan admitted, “but I think he thought it was a really good dance.” He also recalled Zac questioning, “Is that the highest score they’ll give?”

Dylan and professional dancer Daniela Caragazzi received a score of 27 out of 30 for their tango set to Prince’s 1983 hit, “I Won’t Die 4 U.” Zac was seen turning to their mom after the performance, which sparked curiosity among fans regarding the scoring.

Zac seemed to suggest that the score could have been higher. “But, you know, Zac got a bit defensive,” Dylan said, noting that his brother felt misunderstood by others.

The former Disney star finally made a highly anticipated appearance on the show to cheer for Dylan during the November 18 episode. Zac watched alongside his five-year-old sister, Olivia, appearing genuinely happy.

There was a noticeable buzz on social media before his appearance, as fans had urged Zac to join in supporting his brother. When asked about his absence in October, Zac’s response was, “Hey, he’s doing his job,” emphasizing his ongoing support for Dylan.

In the end, Zac and his partner, Karagach, made it to the finals of the competition, competing against Jordan Chiles, Alix Earle, Robert Irwin, and Elaine Hendricks. Robert Irwin and his partner, Whitney Carson, ultimately took home the mirror ball trophy on November 25.
