Turning Point USA CEO Responds to Baseless Conspiracy Theories
Erica Kirk, CEO of Turning Point USA, spoke out on Wednesday against conspiracy theories alleging that her late husband was assassinated three months after his tragic death at a campus event in Utah. Some media figures on the right have been spreading unfounded claims that Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, faked his death and that the organization had a role in an alleged assassination.
In an appearance on Fox News’ “Outnumbered,” Kirk expressed that she and her family desire “one thing” that feels sacred to them. She said, “Would you like just one? Can my children have something we hold dear?” Adding that everything about the situation was public, she emphasized plans to create a beautiful monument for her husband at Turning Point USA, suggesting it would draw significant attention and be something akin to a museum.
“This is my husband,” she stated. “To the world, he was Charlie Kirk. People loved him, and I appreciate that, but for me, I want to leave something sacred for my family and my parents.”
Kirk mentioned her intention to keep her husband’s legacy alive and develop his organization, regardless of the negative narratives others might create. She said, “Please come after me. Call me by name. I don’t mind. Attack me all you want, but when you come after my family and those I love, that’s crossing a line.” She also described the anger she feels as “righteous” and labeled the claims against her family as a form of “mind virus.”
Blake Neff, a producer of “The Charlie Kirk Show,” responded to accusations on podcaster Candace Owens’ show. He invited Owens to discuss these claims live but she opted out after initially agreeing. In a separate claim devoid of evidence, commentator Milo Yiannopoulos suggested, on “Timcast,” that Charlie was gay and intended to divorce Erica. Former Congressman George Santos refuted this, asserting he knew Charlie had not yet been buried and questioned whether he had faked his death.
Candace Owens also claimed that Charlie had sent a message to Turning Point staff suggesting he would be killed the following day. Again, there was no evidence provided to support this. She asserted that the leadership of Turning Point betrayed Charlie by allegedly being involved in his assassination.
