A woman fiercely confronts a knife-wielding attacker while her male friends look on in fear, even ducking behind a wall for safety.
This incident unfolded as two young backpackers were chatting outside what looked like a bank or currency exchange in Colombia. Suddenly, a robber armed with a knife rushed in. Security camera footage from Newsflash captures the moment.
The attacker attempted to slash the woman’s backpack off her, but she fought back, scratching and pushing him away, while her companions remained hidden behind a wall on the sidewalk.
Interestingly, one of the men, who seemed to hesitate, did not step in to help despite being close enough. He just stood there as she struggled for a whole 15 seconds. At one point, another man considered intervening but quickly retreated, leaving the woman to fend for herself.
Eventually, a Good Samaritan jumped in, striking the thief with a motorcycle helmet.
Then, three more bystanders piled in, managing to tackle the robber to the ground.
Still, the cowardly male companion stayed out of it, even when the odds were four to one against the thief.
Once the threat was neutralized, he finally approached the woman to offer comfort, as captured in the video.
Details about the incident, including the specific date and the relationship between the two backpackers, remain unclear. They appeared to be talking in the video, but it’s difficult to know if they were acquainted beforehand.
Regardless, social media users were quick to poke fun at the two men who froze in fear, particularly the one who scrambled behind the wall. One user commented, “White Knight Jimmy just stood there and did nothing.”
