Andy Dick Enters Rehab Following Overdose

Andy Dick is reportedly in a rehabilitation facility after experiencing an overdose from crack cocaine earlier this week.

The actor, known for “Road Trip,” is 59 years old and has informed TMZ that he plans to check into a rehab center located in the Palm Springs, California area on Friday afternoon.

Initially, Dick was resistant to the idea of seeking help, but he mentioned that former co-star Jenny Jimenez played a crucial role in changing his mind.

Describing Jimenez, Dick said, “Jenny Jimenez is the sister who saved me along with Tim,” referring to her husband, who is also sober.

According to Jimenez and Ryan, Dick’s decision to go into rehab was influenced by a “full ride scholarship offer,” which means he won’t be responsible for the costs of his stay this time, thanks to his connection with the rehab facility.

On Tuesday, he was discovered collapsed outside a Hollywood building after what appears to be a crack cocaine overdose.

A video shared by TMZ shows Dick lying on the ground while bystanders attempted to assist him. Some individuals nearby called for police, and one person used Narcan, an emergency medication designed to reverse opioid overdoses, to help him.

Response teams from the Los Angeles Fire Department arrived after receiving a report concerning a 59-year-old man who had overdosed, although he did not require hospitalization.

Right after the incident, Dick stated he was “110 percent” okay, explaining that the trouble began when he decided to smoke crack with a stranger he encountered on the street.

Reflecting on the encounter, Dick shared, “There was a guy my age on the sidewalk, and I felt sorry for him. He had kids, he was depressed.” He added, “Then he went on a rant — sorry, crack — and I thought, look, we might need a little bit of that.”

The “News Radio” star has battled drug and sex addiction over the years.
