Trump Promises Retaliation After Deadly ISIS Attack

President Donald Trump has pledged that the U.S. will respond to the recent attack by ISIS that resulted in the deaths of three American service members in Syria.

Speaking to journalists outside the White House, President Trump expressed his shock over the incident. He characterized the assault as an attack on both the United States and Syria, mentioning that Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa is “fighting alongside us.”

When asked about the next steps for the U.S., he simply stated, “We will retaliate,” before boarding the Marine One helicopter.

In a follow-up post on Truth Social, he reiterated his sentiments, saying, “We mourn the loss of three great American patriots: two soldiers and a civilian interpreter in Syria. Similarly, we wish the three injured soldiers who have just been found safe.”

He further commented, “This is clearly an ISIS attack against the U.S. and Syria in a very volatile part of the country that remains largely uncontrolled. Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa is understandably very upset by this incident. There will be serious repercussions.”

The Pentagon confirmed that the U.S. troops were ambushed by gunmen affiliated with ISIS, with Army Secretary Pete Hegseth describing the attackers as “savages” who were killed in return fire with allied forces. The identities of the attackers have not yet been revealed.

Additionally, reports indicate that three other individuals sustained injuries during the assault.

It’s standard procedure not to release names of victims until at least 24 hours after their families have been notified.
