Josh Allen really gave it his all during Sunday’s game.
The Bills quarterback was spotted throwing up on the sidelines in the fourth quarter of Buffalo’s thrilling comeback win of 35-31 against the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium.
“It basically happens every game,” Allen mentioned to reporters afterward, revealing that he’s been dealing with this for a while now. It seems to be a result of a less-than-ideal pregame routine. “If you don’t get enough outs before the game…that just happens,” he added.
CBS cameras captured the reigning MVP, donning a blue sideline cape, after New England’s Trayvon Henderson made a staggering 65-yard touchdown run, putting the Patriots ahead by three points with just over nine minutes remaining.
Yet, the Bills didn’t back down and quickly retook the lead with an 11-yard rush from James Cook, followed by Matt Prater’s successful extra point kick to seal the win.
Allen, who is 29, led an impressive comeback after Buffalo went into halftime trailing 24-7. The team erupted for 28 points in the second half, with Allen completing 19 of 28 passes for 193 yards, contributing three touchdowns, and importantly, no interceptions.
The Bills managed to recover from a 15-point deficit in their season opener against the Ravens and pulled through last week from a 10-point gap against the Bengals. This marks their third double-digit comeback this season, with Allen playing a key role in each situation.
Now at 10-4, the Bills have evened the score against the Patriots (11-3), having won three consecutive games since their Week 5 loss, which snapped New England’s 10-game winning streak.
With just three weeks left in the season, Buffalo stands just one game behind New England in the AFC East rankings. It’s a particularly exciting time for Allen, as he and his wife Hailee Steinfeld are expecting their first child.
The Bills will continue their journey on the road against the Cleveland Browns on December 21st.
