Jennifer Lopez is really putting in the effort as Oscar season approaches.

The 56-year-old superstar showed off her fit figure in a gray Alberta Ferretti crop top with beaded fringe sleeves, paired with a matching pencil skirt from Envelope. This look is part of the 2025 Oscar Actress Roundtable.

The body-hugging outfit was crafted by the Italian label’s new creative director, Lorenzo Serafini, featuring criss-cross straps that highlighted her abs, a testament to her incredible dancing skills.

Styled by her long-time collaborators Rob Zangardi and Marielle Hoehn, the Bronx native completed her ensemble with sleek gray pumps and wore her hair long and straight with caramel highlights.

Lopez joined other influential actresses like Gwyneth Paltrow, Emily Blunt, Elle Fanning, Tessa Thompson, and Sydney Sweeney in the LA Times’ Women in Film issue, where they discussed facing criticism and rising above industry expectations while taking on demanding roles.

Over her 30-year career, Lopez, who has showcased her talents in singing, dancing, and acting (remember that 50-pound dress in Kiss of the Spider-Woman?), shared that she’s often been a lightning rod for both praise and negativity.

“From the beginning, for whatever reason, I’ve been a lightning rod for both good and a lot of negativity,” she expressed. “And it’s tough to convince yourself that these people just don’t understand you. But then, something changes, and they finally do.”

Lopez recently made headlines at an extravagant Indian wedding where she dazzled in a crystal-embellished sari and a stunning 168-carat emerald necklace, reportedly earning $2 million for her appearance.

As a mother of twins, 17-year-olds Emme and Max, with ex-husband Marc Anthony, Lopez has learned to tune out the external noise by keeping herself grounded. “I always reaffirm myself and stay grounded,” she explained, attributing her resilience to her supportive parents.

Her confidence is evident in her recent fashion choices. For instance, she sported a striking power skirt suit with a plunging neckline at The Hollywood Reporter’s Women in Entertainment Gala earlier this month.

During the roundtable, she also dismissed the notion that actors should stick to one specific path, recalling how critics warned her that pursuing music following her roles in *Selena* and *Out of Sight* could hinder her acting career. “People were saying, ‘You’ll never be seen as a serious actor again,’” she reminisced.

Lopez’s achievement of having a number-one movie and album simultaneously even earned her a place in the Guinness World Records, a feat that Paltrow also achieved.

“People often box you in, saying you can only excel in one area,” Lopez continued. “But I had my own perfume line, a clothing line, and now I’m pushing forward with J.Lo Beauty. It’s all about doing what feels right for you.”

With her captivating looks and the buzz surrounding her potential Oscar nod, it seems like Lopez is on the right track.
