Andrew Corbett, the Executive Producer of the Charlie Kirk Show, shared with Breitbart News that the ongoing right-versus-right debates are “inevitable.”
“Many have noted that Charlie has been, in a way, keeping some of these conflicts under control, working to prevent them or maintain coalition unity. I think that’s a valid point,” Corbett said regarding the recent conservative disputes.
“However, having had these discussions privately with Charlie, we’ve anticipated that something like this would eventually come to a head,” Corbett continued. He spoke to Breitbart during the Turning Point USA’s 2025 America Fest conference.
“And while it’s probably accurate to say that Charlie’s passing may have ramped up these discussions, I don’t think they were entirely unavoidable,” he noted, referring to his role at Turning Point USA.
“Topics like Israel, general foreign policy, the use of U.S. military force, and immigration—all of these conversations were bound to emerge. In some ways, I’m glad they are happening,” Corbett remarked.
“Because, if you were paying attention, you could see these cracks and dividing lines from a mile away,” he added.
Corbett further conveyed that lawmakers should steer clear of acting like social media influencers.
“They need to stop trying to be influencers. Just do what’s necessary—what we’ve asked of you,” Corbett advised. “It’s time we, as a movement, guide them back to their appropriate roles.”
“This is crucial now,” he asserted.
Interestingly, during the America Fest, thousands of attendees witnessed a sensational display as leading conservative figures aired grievances on stage in Phoenix, Arizona.
The public disputes within the conservative movement kicked off on the event’s first day, when Ben Shapiro took the stage and vocally criticized some speakers for failing to “condemn Candice’s truly vicious attacks” directed at Erica Kirk and Turning Point USA.
A few hours later, Tucker Carlson addressed the audience, responding with a “bitter, sarcastic laugh” upon hearing elements of the event.
Candace Owens, not present at America Fest but responding remotely, offered a blunt retort to Shapiro on his podcast.
The following day, Steve Bannon spoke to attendees, branding Shapiro a “cancer” who had tried to dominate Breitbart News, warning that he might also target Turning Point USA because of his envy towards Charlie Kirk.
Megyn Kelly later commented on the situation, acknowledging that the America Fest crowd had once aided in elevating Shapiro’s status but noted that her own subscriber count has since dwindled and they are likely no longer friends.
