Glenn Beck Urges Young Americans to Embrace Change
During his speech at Turning Point USA’s AmFest 2025, Glenn Beck, co-founder of Blaze Media, challenged the audience to acknowledge the misinformation that younger generations have been subjected to. He stressed the crucial role they must play in steering the nation toward a brighter future.
“I want to emphasize that times have changed, and your involvement is needed now more than ever,” he stated. “But there’s something more important I need you all to understand: we must stop fighting amongst ourselves. While it’s critical to advocate for truth, remember—people aren’t your enemies. Lies are the true adversaries.”
“You can’t eliminate darkness with more darkness, nor can you fight hatred with hatred. Only truth can bring light to dispel the darkness,” he added. “Just a single candle can light up an entire room.”
He then directed his attention towards young adults, noting the chaotic and deceitful environment they’ve grown up in.
“If I were 25, I wouldn’t remember anything prior to the collapse of the World Trade Center, and that’s a lot of significant history to miss,” Glenn explained. “After 9/11, young people noticed the U.S. transforming into a surveillance state, constantly on the verge of global conflict, culminating in the financial crash of 2008 that left many families devastated.”
“And yet, no one faced consequences. Your families suffered a cost that was utterly unfair. Then came social media—a tool that was supposed to connect us, but instead has driven us apart and altered our perspectives,” he recalled.
“Fast forward to 2020, and COVID-19 flipped everything upside down again, resulting in further turmoil.”
Young adults not only observed how these events affected their parents, but were also led to believe that taking on student loans for education would lead to great opportunities. Instead, many have found themselves deeper in debt and, in some cases, being told outright falsehoods, like the notion that one can simply choose their gender.
“I have to say, if I were 25, I would think it feels like one big lie,” Beck acknowledged. “The biggest misconception you’ve been taught is that you don’t matter. The reality is that just because the system is broken doesn’t mean you lack agency. It actually reveals who still holds onto it. Every generation has faced chaos, but…”
“… the opportunity to transform that chaos into a mission lies with you,” he concluded. “That’s your calling.”
