Kamala Harris Launches Political Action Committee
Former vice president Kamala Harris, who previously ran for president, has announced the formation of a political action committee called “Fight for the People.” This initiative is intended to support Democratic candidates through fundraising and public engagement.
In a text message titled “My Decision – Kamala Harris,” she shared her motivations and aims for this new effort, along with a call for grassroots donations as they approach their first fundraising deadline.
She begins by stating, “Since the last election, I’ve avoided sending out fundraising requests. But I felt it was important to share my thoughts on how I’m approaching this moment and why I still hope you’ll be part of this fight.”
Harris urged supporters not to simply dismiss current events as random chaos. “Many describe the recent happenings as total disarray. I get why. But don’t be fooled—it’s not just chaos. What we’re seeing is a rapid progression of an agenda that has been in the works for decades.”
She reaffirmed her commitment to actively participating in political efforts, saying, “I’ll go anywhere to speak and help elect Democratic candidates, but I can’t do this alone.” She emphasized the urgency of meeting initial fundraising targets, noting that these donations are essential, especially with the upcoming FEC deadline looming. “Everyone will be watching, and we want to present a strong report,” she added.
The message concludes with a plea for support: “It means so much to know you’re still with me in this fight.” There’s also a link to her fundraiser.
This announcement coincides with Harris’s recent media appearances, including an interview on a podcast where she shared dating advice, suggesting that women should prioritize kindness toward themselves and surround themselves with kind people. This interview was part of a tour promoting her memoir, “107 Days,” during which she chose to focus on personal themes rather than discuss prospects for the 2028 presidential election.
In a recent chat with Jimmy Kimmel, she defended the Biden administration’s stance on separating their agenda from the actions of the Department of Justice regarding Jeffrey Epstein-related documents. However, her remarks sparked criticism from both left-wing commentators wanting a more assertive approach from President Biden and conservative voices interpreting her comments as evidence of a troubling connection between the Biden administration and the Justice Department in legal actions concerning Donald Trump. Harris also mentioned she hadn’t spoke to President Biden in “about three or four weeks” and felt a lack of support from some areas within the administration during her 2024 campaign.
