Comedian Shane Gillis Criticizes DHS for Creating Funny ICE Videos

Comedian Shane Gillis has expressed his frustration over the Department of Homeland Security creating humorous, meme-like videos related to Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations.

Gillis discussed this issue recently on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, criticizing the social media campaign being promoted by the Trump administration for ICE.

“I can’t defend it,” Gillis remarked. “Oh my god, ICE is making these funny videos about deporting people. I’m like, ‘Wow, that’s awful.’

He later added, “But honestly, yes, illegal immigration is a problem that needs to be addressed. It shouldn’t be a joke. This is serious stuff. What you’re doing is serious.”

Gillis further criticized the people in charge at ICE, calling them “obviously just weird assholes.”

Previously, Gillis has also been critical of Donald Trump. In July, he commented on the far-left’s perspective regarding the events of January 6th.

During his opening monologue at the ESPY Awards that month, he took jabs at various figures, including Caitlin Clark, Jeffrey Epstein, and Trump himself. “Donald Trump wants to have a UFC fight on the White House lawn. The last time we had a fight in Washington, D.C., Mike Pence almost died,” he joked in reference to the January 6 incident.

He also ridiculed the Trump administration, labeling the Jeffrey Epstein files a “hoax.” He then added, “There was supposed to be an Epstein joke in here, but it got deleted. It probably deleted itself, right? Like, it probably never existed. Actually, we should just move on as a country.”

Gillis faced backlash from fans for teaming up with Bud Light, trying to improve his image after an ad campaign featuring Dylan Mulvaney caused controversy.

Gillis initially gained notoriety as a victim of cancel culture when he was hired by Saturday Night Live but was dismissed before the first episode aired due to backlash over politically incorrect jokes made on a podcast. However, he rebounded with a successful independent career as a stand-up comedian and actor, ultimately becoming well-known enough to host SNL.
