Mickey Rourke seeks funds to prevent eviction due to a $60,000 rent shortfall

Mickey Rourke is reaching out for help from his fans.

The 73-year-old actor, known for his role in “Sin City,” has turned to crowdfunding to prevent eviction from his Los Angeles home, where he’s reportedly behind on rent by nearly $60,000, as stated by a source.

A GoFundMe campaign titled “Helping Mickey Prevent Eviction” was initiated by Liya Joel Jones, a close friend and part of his management team.

In her appeal, she encouraged fans to “help keep Mickey Rourke home,” describing him as someone “raw, fearless, and totally original,” embodying both danger and vulnerability, as well as strength and heart.

Furthermore, the message noted, “Mickey’s life has never been a safe or easy journey.” At the peak of his success, he chose to step away from Hollywood to seek authenticity, opting for risk rather than comfort.

“The harsh realities of boxing have left him with both physical and mental scars, and the industry that once praised him quickly moved on. That’s resulted in a challenging period marked by survival rather than fame, characterized by health challenges, financial hardships, and the painful feeling of being forgotten.”

Jones clarified that the campaign was launched with Mickey’s “full permission to cover immediate housing-related expenses,” providing him with some stability and peace of mind during this stressful period.

“Mickey Rourke is an iconic figure, yet his journey is both heartbreaking and deeply human. This reflects a man who dedicated himself to his craft, took significant risks, and bore the heavy costs. Fame doesn’t shield one from hardship, and talent doesn’t ensure security. At the end of the day, we have human beings deserving of dignity, a home, and an opportunity to find their way back.”

As of Monday morning, the campaign had raised approximately $54,000 of its $100,000 goal.

According to a complaint filed on December 29, the “9 1/2 Weeks” star received a notice from his landlord, Eric Goldy, demanding payment of $59,100 for unpaid rent or to vacate within three days.

The notice alleging Rourke’s “failure to comply” was delivered at the property and mailed to him, as he wasn’t there to receive it, the documents indicated.

The professional boxer had signed a lease in March 2025 for $5,200 per month, which was later raised to $7,000.

Goldy is also pursuing compensation for legal fees and claiming forfeiture of the rental agreement.

Following news of the impending eviction, a source shared with the Daily Mail that Rourke might be facing deeper financial issues.

It seems he’s living “paycheck to paycheck,” as the earnings from his recent films haven’t matched his previous lifestyle.

He’s described as being “rich poor,” meaning he has potential to earn significant money in movies and reality shows, but spends it quickly, finding himself back at square one before long.
