Friends who went to check on a murdered dentist and his wife in Ohio discovered a bloody scene and heard children’s screams, as revealed in a 911 call.
The audio indicates that Spencer Tepe’s employer contacted emergency services on December 30, worried about his absence from work. It was obtained by Fox News Digital.
Mark Valrose, the owner of Athens Dental Depot, expressed his concerns to dispatchers, noting that Tepe was usually punctual and always communicated if there was an issue. He mentioned attempts to reach Tepe’s wife, Monique, had also been unsuccessful.
“This is very concerning, especially since we haven’t managed to reach his wife,” he added, showing profound worry.
Later that morning, another individual reported hearing Tepe’s two children inside their home but noted no one came out when they knocked.
“I can hear the kids inside. I think I heard screaming, but I can’t get in. I don’t know whether to break the door down or what,” the caller expressed, clearly anxious.
Just a few minutes afterwards, a friend of the couple called 911, stating he saw a body during a welfare check.
“There’s a body,” he reported. “Our friend didn’t answer the phone, so we came over. It looks like he’s dead, covered in blood, next to the bed. There’s not much more to see from here.”
The identity of the suspect in the murders, which occurred at their home near Columbus, has yet to be released. While police found no guns or evidence of forced entry, the couple’s children and dog were reported safe.
Authorities do not suspect a murder-suicide in this case, and on Monday, they shared unsettling surveillance footage showing a “person of interest” walking through an alley close to the Tepe family home in the early hours of December 30.
