Kai Trump Undergoes Wrist Surgery
On Wednesday, Kai Trump, President Donald Trump’s granddaughter, shared on social media that she had surgery to fix a wrist injury.
Kai, an avid golfer, made her LPGA debut last November at The Anika tournament in Bellaire, Florida. She posted, “Today I underwent surgery on my left wrist to address damage to the stabilizing tissue of the ECU tendon and damage to the fibrocartilage complex. The surgery was performed successfully by Dr. Thomas Graham, Chief of Jefferson Orthopedics at Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute. I look forward to the next few months of rehabilitation and am excited to be able to play golf pain-free.”
Recently, during an interview on Logan Paul’s podcast, she was seen with a bandage wrapped around her wrist.
At The Anika tournament, Trump finished last, but there was a noticeable improvement on her second day, where she cut her score by eight strokes compared to the first day. She concluded the second round with a score of 18-over 158, putting her 27 strokes behind the leader, Grace Kim, who scored 65-66.
Kai expressed her aspirations in golf, stating she is “100%” committed to becoming a professional golfer. She mentioned, “I was definitely very nervous the first day, and I think the nerves got to me. But when I came out today, I honestly felt very calm and peaceful. That’s why I played better.”
She added that her preparation helped ease her nerves, saying, “If you prepare correctly, the nerves… which are always there, right? It might ease it a little bit.”
Golf star Charlie Hull complimented Kai’s performance, noting the challenges of competing in a tough LPGA event. Hull recalled her own experience with nerves during her first tournament, implying that the pressure was significant, especially with all eyes on Kai.
