Over 13,000 wireless chargers sold in the U.S. by TJ Maxx and Marshalls have been recalled due to safety concerns, specifically that they could potentially “explode during use.” This recall was announced by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission on Thursday.
The affected chargers are branded as Isla Rae and were available for purchase for $15 at stores nationwide from June 2024 to November 2025. They come in colors like white, pink, and purple.
The commission raised an alarm stating, “The charger may explode during use, creating a fire or burn hazard.”
Besides the 13,200 units in the U.S., another 7,000 were sold in Canada. These chargers work with magnetic charging systems and attach magnetically to the back of compatible smartphones.
The model number for these chargers is RM5PBM, which can be found on the side under the label that reads 5000 mAh 3.7V.

Customers are strongly advised to stop using the chargers immediately and seek a refund. The commission has also instructed that these faulty chargers should be disposed of properly. It’s crucial to note that lithium-ion batteries shouldn’t just be thrown in the trash or general recycling. They pose a fire risk and should be handled more carefully.
As of now, there have been no reports of injuries associated with these chargers.
