Chase Rice Announces a Break from Touring

Country musician Chase Rice is taking a step back after more than ten years on the road. The 40-year-old artist shared his decision on Instagram, revealing that he’s reached a point of exhaustion and will limit his performances through 2026.

“Well, I’ve been debating whether to share this or not, but here goes. I’ve toured for 13 years, and I’ve lived the dream far beyond what I anticipated,” Rice expressed in his post.

Despite rumors about a permanent exit from the music scene, Rice clarified that this isn’t a goodbye. “To be clear, this is not a farewell or anything like that. It may feel like it, but I’m just really exhausted,” he stated, explaining how the relentless pace had dulled his connection with both the music and the stage.

He reflected on how long it had been since he felt truly himself while performing, admitting he had even started questioning why he fell in love with music in the first place. “I love singing, living it, hearing stories from other people, and figuring out how to channel that life into music,” he shared.

Having spent years traveling and living on tour buses, Rice noted that this lifestyle had taken a toll on him both mentally and physically. “After 13 years, I finally reached the point where I needed to take a break to really live my life and gain more authentic experiences,” he confessed.

He continued, “I’m not going to tour this year, and this wasn’t an easy decision. It is something I realized I have to do for myself,” emphasizing how significant this hiatus is for him. “Many artists take breaks, but this is new for me and very important in my life.”

In his message, he expressed gratitude to his band and crew, acknowledging their support through ups and downs. “You’ve seen me at my worst and you love me back just as you did when I was at my best,” he said.

Addressing his fans directly, he mentioned that while the changes to his touring schedule are significant, his love for music is intact. “To all the fans who have been a part of this journey, I love you too. You’ve truly made my dreams come true,” he noted. There will still be some shows this year, though they’ll differ from the rigorous schedule of the past 13 years.

Rice also shared a video montage celebrating his touring days, capturing the energy and emotions of those performances. His journey began with a college football career, which changed after an injury diverted him toward music. “I’ve had a very blessed life, but some things have gotten in my way, which I appreciate,” he said previously, emphasizing the hard work behind his success.
