Surveillance footage from the moments leading up to the shooting of Renee Nicole Good by federal law enforcement shows her vehicle positioned in the roadway minutes before the tragic event. The video, acquired by a news outlet, captures her car stopping to let someone out on the right side of a residential street while U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers executed a raid not visible in the clip.

Shortly after, it seems her vehicle turned and blocked traffic, creating a standoff of sorts. Then, when ICE agents approached her Honda Pilot, she reportedly drove towards them, resulting in her being shot and killed.

This situation has been framed by the Trump administration as an example of domestic terrorism. According to Marcos Charles, acting executive director of ICE’s Office of Enforcement and Elimination Operations, Good had previously been harassing law enforcement vehicles and was actively evading authorities.

Charles noted that police lost track of Good at a red light earlier, and she later returned to obstruct the officers’ work, using her vehicle almost like a barrier. He further explained that every time the officers attempted to maneuver around her car, Good would adjust her position to block them, actively preventing them from proceeding.

Critics of ICE and the current administration argue that the tactics being employed by federal agents result in misconduct and disarray in the communities where they operate. Good, described as a 37-year-old mother of three, was known as an immigration activist in Minneapolis and was a member of ICE Watch, a group committed to tracking and opposing federal immigration enforcement, particularly in cities identified as sanctuaries.
