Kamala Harris advocates for changes to the Electoral College and Supreme Court in a new viral video

House Democrats avoid questions about Harris's potential 2028 run

Kamala Harris Proposes New Ideas for Democrats

Former Vice President Kamala Harris stirred conversation recently with her suggestions viewed by many as “bad ideas” for the Democratic Party. This discussion unfolded during a livestream on a podcast where she emphasized the need for an “expanded playbook” ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.

“I think we need a broader strategy that invites all ideas,” Harris explained. “This is a moment where we can explore no-bad-idea brainstorming.” Among the topics she raised were potential reforms surrounding the Electoral College and Supreme Court expansion, as well as the concept of multi-member districts.

Harris hinted that if Democrats regained control of the Senate, it might be essential to create ethics rules for Supreme Court justices and ensure accountability for anyone lying to justices or nominees.

“Establishing ethics rules for Supreme Court justices is the right move. We should also consider statehood for Puerto Rico and D.C.,” she added.

The response on social media was swift, with conservative voices describing her proposals as “bad ideas.” Some critics, like Substack writer Stephen Miller, asserted that the Democrats lack substantial policy ideas. Radio host Erik Erickson commented on the perceived media double standards, suggesting that conservative ideas would be treated differently.

Humor wasn’t lost on some, with Utah Sen. Mike Lee jokingly acknowledging the presence of potentially “bad ideas” in what Harris proposed. Outkick writer Ian Miller pointed out the irony of Harris losing the popularity vote in the past.

In her recent comments, Harris appears to be positioning herself as a candidate for the 2028 presidential election. However, her Democratic counterparts have been less than enthusiastic when asked about her viability as a candidate following her unsuccessful bid in 2024.

Though Harris hasn’t explicitly confirmed whether she plans to run again, reports indicate that she has been in discussions with fellow politicians about her future ambitions.
