Dax Shepard Discusses Surprising Proposal to His Daughter

Dax Shepard recently made a notable proposal to his young daughter, Delta. On his podcast, “Armchair Expert,” he shared that he brought up the option of freezing her eggs when she turns 18. He explained this to co-host Monica Padman, making it clear that he wants to support her choices regarding her future.

“I said, ‘If you want, I’ll freeze your eggs for you when you turn 18. I’ll cover the costs so it’s one less thing for you to worry about,'” he noted. Shepard emphasized that his daughter is aware of her privileges, recognizing that this option isn’t something many families can consider.

He added, “I think it makes sense. I believe women face the same challenges regarding balancing career and family, regardless of their circumstances.”

The conversation about motherhood had started when Delta expressed her excitement about potentially becoming a mother someday. Shepard recalled asking her, “When do you think you’ll have your first child? Is it going to be when you turn 18?” He remarked that he wants to be supportive rather than impose any criticism on her choices.

Interestingly, Delta later mentioned that she feels that her mid-20s might be a better time for her to have children, indicating that she might not be entirely on board with the idea yet.

In addition to Delta, Shepard and his wife, actress Kristen Bell, have another daughter named Lincoln, who is 12 years old.

Speaking of Kristen Bell, she recently faced backlash for an Instagram post celebrating their wedding anniversary. In her message, she joked about domestic violence, stating, “Happy 12th wedding anniversary to the man who once said to me, ‘I will never kill you… I have a strong motive to kill you, but I will never kill you.'” This comment did not sit well with some fans, who found it tone-deaf and inappropriate.

Dax and Kristen’s relationship began at a dinner party in 2007, and they started dating after bumping into each other at a hockey game shortly thereafter. They got engaged in 2009 and tied the knot in a quiet ceremony at a Beverly Hills courthouse in October 2013. Reflecting on their wedding, Bell shared that they wanted to focus solely on each other, saying, “We really wanted to be there as long as we could.”
