Mysterious “Flying Pentagon” Spotted in Los Angeles
A so-called “flying Pentagon” has been seen in Los Angeles, igniting a flurry of speculation and conspiracy theories online about what might be coming next.
This aircraft, often referred to as the “Doomsday Plane,” had Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on board when it landed at Los Angeles International Airport on Thursday night.
Hegseth is currently involved in the “Arsenal of Freedom” tour, which aims to highlight America’s defense industry and strengthen military recruitment efforts.
The Pentagon has yet to respond to requests for comment regarding the sighting.
Also on the flight was Laura Loomer, a right-wing internet figure. She shared on social media that Hegseth referred to the LA Military Immigration Enlisted Enlistes as “the true elite and the 1 percent” committed to “God and country.”
Loomer remarked, “Isn’t it any wonder why U.S. military recruitment is booming?” while giving credit to Hegseth.
One user on X felt the need to critique Hegseth, saying he “sucks.” Another user pointed out that the plane is essentially a “nuclear-proof airborne command force,” suggesting this might not be a positive sign for the public’s security.
A few users speculated about the timing of this aircraft’s appearance, linking it to geopolitical tensions like Russia’s actions in Ukraine.
“Have faith. We are in charge,” one user asserted, encouraging fellow citizens during what they referred to as Patriots Day.
Known as the E-4B Nightwatch, this modified Boeing 747 operates as a mobile command center, ensuring government operations can continue during significant national emergencies, including nuclear situations.
This isn’t the first time the Doomsday Plane has gained attention; it was previously associated with military discussions in Washington concerning a potential strike against Iran and seen in Fort Worth in September.
The latest sighting caught the eye of Airline Videos, a YouTube channel dedicated to streaming aircraft activity live, and has been noted by various monitoring agencies since.
Remarkably, this marked what is thought to be the Doomsday Plane’s first appearance at LAX in its 51-year history, as noted by Airline Videos on social media.
The aircraft can remain airborne for up to 12 hours without needing to refuel and has the capability to refuel mid-air, allowing it to sustain extended missions. Built to ensure global communications, it functions even if ground command is compromised, acting as a mobile Pentagon in the sky.
