Jennifer Lawrence Reflects on Her Changing Views on Dogs

Jennifer Lawrence, known for her love of dogs, recently shared how her perspective has shifted since becoming a parent. After a screening of her new film, Die My Love, in New York City, the 35-year-old actress admitted she sees dogs differently now, saying, “I don’t just see them as a threat.”

She recounted an incident where one of her dogs bit her son, which understandably led her to consider drastic measures: “I wanted to get rid of all dogs,” she explained. Her frustration was palpable as she humorously expressed her extreme reactions, saying, “It’s like, ‘I’m going to kill you and your whole family. You and your friends too.’

Lawrence also revealed that she chose to rehome her dog, Princess Pippi Longstocking, adopted in 2017, after the arrival of her baby. “The dog didn’t like New York,” she mentioned, indicating a change in both her and the dog’s circumstances.

Now a mother of two, with sons aged three years and a newborn, Lawrence finds herself much more anxious about dogs. She shared that her parents are currently caring for Pippi Longstocking since her home environment has changed quite a bit.

Joking about her career, she mentioned her friend’s recent Golden Globe nomination, saying, “She’s been beating me up for decades, but it’s an honor.” She expressed a mix of excitement and jest as she reflected on the accolades, adding that every time her friend tried to engage her in conversation, she thought, “If you could talk, why aren’t you apologizing so much?”

In her latest role alongside Robert Pattinson, Lawrence portrays a mother who, it seems, has a knack for causing anxiety in those around her. She laughs about the chaos that ensues in the film.

Having shot to fame in 2010 with Winter’s Bone, which earned her an Academy Award nomination, she later became a household name as Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games series. In a recent statement, she expressed a desire to reprise her iconic role, saying, “If Katniss could come back into my life, 100 percent.”

There’s talk of a prequel film, Sunrise of the Reap, set for release in November 2026. Her character is mentioned in the epilogue of the source material, giving fans hope for her return.

Interestingly, Maya Hawke, who stars in the upcoming Hunger Games project, recently praised Lawrence, saying, “Jennifer Lawrence’s performance in the first four movies is a big part of why I want to be an actor.” It’s clear that the influence Jennifer has had on the film industry and aspiring actors is undeniable.
