Colombian Singer Eison Jimenez Dies in Plane Crash

Eison Jimenez, a 34-year-old Colombian singer-songwriter, tragically lost his life in a plane crash just hours before his scheduled performance. The incident occurred on Saturday in the airspace between Paipa and Duitama, Colombia, resulting in the deaths of six people, including Jimenez.

The musician’s official statement expressed deep sorrow: “It is with a heavy heart and indescribable pain that we announce his passing. Today, we say goodbye not just to an artist, but to a son, brother, friend, and a man filled with dreams and courage. He demonstrated perseverance, discipline, and love for his community. His voice will always resonate in the lives of those who admired him.”

Jimenez was traveling with five team members, including Jefferson Osorio and captain Fernando Torres, at the time of the crash.

The statement also acknowledged the support from fans and urged for respect for the family’s privacy during this tough time to honor Jimenez’s legacy. “Though he may have left us physically, his spirit endures: his music, his words, and his relentless pursuit of dreams have left an indelible mark on Colombian regional music and on its people,” it read.

Interestingly, Jimenez had previously shared a premonition about a plane crash. He described having recurring dreams where he saved the flight by informing the pilot. “I had three dreams where the plane crashed,” he said in a recent interview. “God gave me three signs, but I was unable to understand them.” Such a story—it’s hard not to feel a certain weight to it, don’t you think?

Finally, Jimenez was reportedly on his way to Medellin for a performance that night when the accident occurred. The plane is believed to have been owned by his company, YJ Company SAS.
