Impeachment Articles Against Governor Walz Expected Soon

A Republican representative from Minnesota has informed Blaze News that articles of impeachment against Governor Tim Walz are currently being written and could be publicly announced shortly—possibly as soon as Tuesday.

The governor, who was a Democratic vice presidential candidate in a previous election, has faced ongoing criticism for allegedly hindering law enforcement’s attempts to tackle a significant fraud case involving Somalia, which may have cost the government billions.

State Representative Ben Davis, who is also a pastor, said, “We plan to make a public announcement this week, perhaps tomorrow.” He noted that Republicans had urged Governor Walz to take action on the fraud issue, but he declined.

“Fraud is happening. It continues. We need to be more aggressive about this, but he did the opposite,” Davis added.

Previously, Walz had stated he wouldn’t seek a third term, attributing his decision partly to the fraud allegations while maintaining his innocence. “After discussing it with my family and team over the holidays, I realized I can’t fully commit to a political campaign,” he mentioned in a statement made on January 5.

He continued, “Every minute I spend defending my political interests is time lost in protecting Minnesotans from criminals and skeptics.”

According to Davis, moving forward with impeachment would require support from a majority in the state House of Representatives, and a two-thirds vote in the state Senate would be necessary for a conviction.

Republicans are pushing for resignations or impeachment from the Democrats. Tennessee Republican Congressman Tim Burchett remarked, “Governor Walz needs to step down. His insistence on continuing the investigation is akin to O.J. Simpson claiming he’ll investigate his ex-wife’s murder.”

Tom Emmer, the House Majority Whip, asserted, “I’m not going to be Minnesota Nice; let’s be Minnesota Real. Tim Walz should resign, or he might end up in handcuffs.”

Another Minnesota Republican, Representative Brad Finstad, voiced frustration, saying, “Think about what our ancestors sacrificed for us. We’re passing down fraud, and $38 trillion in debt instead of governance.”
