Jalen Hurts shares insightful thoughts on Kevin Patullo amid potential changes for the Eagles

Eagles Coordinator’s Future in Doubt After Season’s End

Nick Sirianni isn’t the only one in the Eagles organization hesitant to discuss their future. This seems particularly true for coordinators when they’re facing challenges.

Following the Eagles’ narrow 23-19 defeat to the 49ers in the wild-card round, quarterback Jalen Hurts was posed a question about whether he wanted offensive coordinator Kevin Pattullo to return. His response lacked a definitive endorsement for Pattullo, who replaced Kellen Moore.

“It’s too early to think about that, and like I said, I have confidence in Howie [Roseman] and Nick and Mr. Lurie [team owner Jeffrey Lurie],” Hurts remarked in a clip shared by Fox Sports.

Pattullo faced significant criticism in his debut season as OC. Despite having standout players like Hurts, Saquon Barkley, AJ Brown, and DeVonta Smith, the offense struggled to find its rhythm.

He drew ire for a questionable final play call in Sunday’s game that involved four wide receivers executing go routes on a 4-and-11.

“Is this really what Kevin Pattullo and Nick Sirianni thought?” former NFL linebacker and analyst Emmanuel Acho expressed his disgust on social media.

When Sirianni was pressed about Pattullo’s effectiveness during the postgame press conference, he offered a somber response: “We’ll have time to evaluate everyone’s performance. My heart goes out to all the players in the locker room right now.”

On Monday morning, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Pattullo might be on the chopping block.

There was already speculation about discontent within the Eagles’ offense, particularly regarding AJ Brown’s role as the team attempted to return to the Super Bowl this season.

Brown, who had a sideline altercation with Sirianni during the game, avoided the media afterward and reportedly repeated the incident the following day.

When asked about Brown, Hurts said the two have been communicating and are in a “great situation.” As for Philadelphia’s future, it’s uncertain who will be part of the roster and coaching staff going into the 2026 season after last year’s champions fell short of repeating their success.
