Alan Jackson, the former lawyer for Nick Reiner, has completely shifted his focus to the troubling case involving his son, who faces serious allegations of murder. In a recent podcast, he dismissed ideas that he stepped away from his role with Live due to financial reasons.

Jackson recalled receiving a call in the early hours of December 15, while he was in New York. This call was related to Nick being accused of killing his parents, the well-known director Rob Reiner and his wife, Michelle Singer Reiner. He shared his thoughts on the “Billy Bush’s Hot Mic” podcast.

The experienced lawyer, known for defending high-profile figures like Harvey Weinstein, felt compelled to act swiftly after hearing about the situation. He described how he “dropped everything” following an anonymous call that prompted his immediate travel back to Los Angeles.

In a court statement made earlier in January, Jackson suggested that he had no alternative but to resign as Nick’s attorney, although he claimed he couldn’t disclose the specific reasons due to legal restrictions.

Interestingly, despite resigning, Jackson maintained his belief in Nick’s innocence regarding the murder charges.

He expressed full trust in Nick’s new attorney, public defender Kimberly Greene, reaffirming that Nick upholds his innocence. Jackson spoke highly of Greene and the public defender’s office, stating that they have excellent legal professionals.

Jackson shared his dedication during the time he represented Nick, noting their diligent efforts leading up to significant court dates.

He felt it necessary to clarify inaccuracies and speculations surrounding the case, emphasizing his belief in the truth of what he stated.

According to reports, Nick, who has faced severe substance abuse challenges, is charged with the murders of his parents and is currently held without bail in a Los Angeles jail.

Nick’s sister, Romy, reportedly discovered their parents’ bodies when she went to check on them after the masseuse waiting outside received no response.
