Escalating Threats Against Former Border Official

Tom Homan, known as the “border czar” during the Trump administration, shared with Fox News that an increase in anti-ICE sentiments has led to a dramatic rise in death threats against him, including threats aimed at his family. He noted, “The death threats just for me have tripled,” during an appearance on “Faulkner Focus.”

Homan elaborated on the threats, expressing concern for his family’s safety. “They don’t want to kill me; they want to kill my family. You know, tear out my soul and make me suffer for the rest of my life,” he explained.

He attributed the surge in real-world threats to what he describes as “hateful rhetoric” from Democratic leaders, emphasizing that the risk extends beyond him, affecting law enforcement across the nation.

Recalling a warning he made in March about potential bloodshed if the rhetoric continued, he remarked, “Unfortunately, I was right.” Numbers released by the Department of Homeland Security on January 8 indicated severe challenges faced by ICE officers, with reported assaults increasing by an astonishing 1,300%, vehicular attacks rising by 3,200%, and death threats spiking by 8,000%.

Increased immigration enforcement operations are ongoing across various cities, particularly in places like Minneapolis. The situation has been exacerbated by anti-ICE rhetoric following the shooting death of Renee Nicole Good, igniting a national debate about the justification for using deadly force by federal officers. Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, among Democratic leaders, has called for action against immigration officials. Just recently, on “Fox & Friends,” he reiterated his earlier comments urging ICE to “get those people off the streets,” firmly standing by his statements.

The mayor clarified he does not advocate for the abolition of ICE but holds the Trump administration’s immigration policies responsible for creating “chaos” in the city.

In an earlier discussion, Homan revealed that he had separated from his wife due to safety concerns stemming from these threats. He mentioned on the podcast “Pod Force One” that his wife now lives elsewhere to protect herself, describing the threats as “outrageous.”
