Trump Says 'Venezuela Leaker' is in Prison: 'Very Bad Leaker'

Trump Confirms Leaker of Venezuela Operations is Imprisoned

President Donald Trump acknowledged that an individual suspected of leaking classified information regarding U.S. operations in Venezuela is now in prison.

During a recent bill-signing event, Trump commented that the individual “will probably be in prison for a long time.” He emphasized that this was a significant matter, stating, “The leaker has been found and is now in prison,” adding that the case concerns a “very bad leaker.”

He hinted that there could be other individuals involved, mentioning ongoing investigations by his administration.

In detail, Trump reiterated, “The leaker was found, is in jail, and will likely be in jail for a long time.”

His remarks followed revelations from Attorney General Pam Bondi. In a tweet, she disclosed that “last week,” the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the FBI executed a search warrant at a person’s residence.

The journalist who sparked the situation was accused of “obtaining and reporting confidential information that was illegally leaked from a Department of Defense contractor,” as Bondi specified.

Bondi confirmed, “The leaker is currently in jail.” This incident has drawn attention to the actions of the FBI, which, according to Breitbart News’ Sean Moran, was looking into a government contractor reportedly holding classified materials unlawfully.

As part of this investigation, the FBI conducted a raid on Washington Post reporter Hannah Natanson’s home, although she has not faced any accusations of wrongdoing. Marty Barron, the former editor-in-chief of the Washington Post, commented that this action poses a threat to free speech. He stated, “It is clear and a frightening sign that this administration will not put limits on its aggression against independent media outlets.”

Natanson was informed that she was not a target of the investigation; however, the search warrant indicated that Aurelio Perez-Lugones, a systems administrator from Maryland, was accused of accessing and retrieving classified intelligence reports found in her lunchbox, according to a subsequent report.
